Your Birth Experience Matters.
As women in America we are often taught that birth is scary, dangerous, and the most painful thing we will ever do.
But what if it can be filled with joy?
The transition into motherhood is one of the greatest labors of love a woman can experience in her lifetime.
The way in which you bring forth the little human bumping around in your womb right now has the power to shape who you are in monumental ways! The support you receive, how you are spoken to, and the way you experience the transitions into motherhood deserve to be celebrated and supported well. The person you are today reading this will not be the same person who is holding that little bundle in such a short time.
My goal is to support and advocate for you through intense moments of labor and support your brilliant way of bringing life into the world.
I believe every life is a miracle.
Your body is absolutely amazing.
You were made and chosen to bring this life into the world and it is a privilege to support you in this process.
Through every step of the journey my goal is for you to feel loved, supported, valued and knowledgeable about your birth experience. As a doula I offer evidence-based resources and help you feel in control of your birth experience and the futures you are creating right inside of you.
May your birth be filled with joy!
Mikala Cummins
I am a christian doula. I believe every person I come in contact with is loved and created with purpose. As women we were designed to bring life into the world, and that is a beautiful calling.
Birth is a beautiful process that can bring varying challenges. As a DONA trained doula I aim to bring the highest level of care, evidence-based practices, education and support to your family and experience.
As a VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean) mom and someone who has experienced personal birth trauma, I know exactly what it can mean for someone to simply understand. Through my own healing and process of achieving my VBAC I have acquired much education and passion on the subject.
If you are considering a VBAC birth or simply wish to learn more, please don't hesitate to reach out.
I am originally from Alaska and have lived in Kitsap for over 8 years. My husband and I have four little adventurous boys. I deeply enjoy my nespresso in the morning and spending time with my community of friends and family.
Mikala was at the HBAC (home birth after cesarean) of my second son. Her calm demeanor, paired with the joy and passion she has for birth, is a win-win! I highly recommend her as a doula for anyone hoping to have a natural birth. She's wonderful!
